Nair graduated in 1991 with an LLB (Hons) degree from Cardiff Law School, University of Wales, United Kingdom. He is presently an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya from 1996 (27 years). Nair mainly handles Corporate and Commercial / Insurance Fraud, Dispute Resolution, Torts(mainly defamations) and Corporate / Commercial matters. Nair has represented prominent personalities in several high-profile cases from 1998, including the former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and current PM, in civil and general matters.
Apart from law Nair is a Life Member of the following organizations: –
- RESPA (Retired Senior Police Officers’ Association) Malaysia;
- Australian & New Zealand Maritime Law Association, Sydney;
- Malaysian Medico Legal Society, Kuala Lumpur; and
- Corporate Member Chartered Institute of Transport & Logistics, London, UK (MCILT)
Nair’s Experiences:
- Former Chairman of Malaysian Rubber Board Properties Corporation (LGMPC), between 2019 – 2021 (2 years).
- Former Chairman Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM), a Malaysian statutory body between 2018 – 2020 (2 years).
- Former Board Member of Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL), a Malaysian statutory body between 2018 – 2020 (2 years).
- Former stock broker (licensed Dealers Representative), between 1991 – 1994 (4 years).
- Between March 1982 – December 1988 (7 years), Nair served in the Royal Malaysia Police Force holding the rank of Assistant Supt. of Police. His tour of duty includes the Special Branch and Criminal Investigations (CID). Whilst in the CID he headed investigations into several high-profile commercial crimes’ cases involving several prominent tycoons and politicians during the 1985-1987 economic downturn.
- Between May 1974 – Feb 1982 (8 years), Nair was a Senior Traffic Officer at Johor Port Authority, Pasir Gudang, Johor. He has served in various departments in the Port; inter alia, conventional cargo and container operations, warehousing and supply chain. Nair has also attended various senior management courses at the Port of Singapore Authority.
